Camera Inspection

A sewer line camera inspection can save you time, money and headache. By threading a small leak detection camera down your sewer line or other pipe, a plumber can discover clogs and cracks that may have otherwise gone unnoticed. They can also pinpoint the location of the damage for repairs.

Duncan Plumbing purchases a new Ridgid M40 Camera

At Duncan Plumbing Solutions, camera inspection is one of the many tools we use to give you the best plumbing service in the Ellis County Area. We have recently purchased a brand new Ridgid M40 Camera with SeeSnake and CS6X Versa Monitor .  This new camera delivers big performance in a small package. This comes with TruSense technology which delivers valuable information about the in-pipe environment and condition. The flexible push cable makes it ideal for longer runs in mains and branch lines. This camera has high color, clarity and detail and easily passes thru hard to navigate turns and fittings and can locate up to  131 feet. With our Bluetooth technology our plumbers can live stream direct to a mobile device allowing our customers to view in real time sewer line conditions.   If your water bill has gone up or if you’ve experienced plumbing issues recently, a quick plumbing camera inspection by one of our technicians can detect problems within your pipes.

How a Sewer Drain Camera Works

Our “pipe cam” is a small, high resolution camera that is attached to a long flexible metal cable. Imagine a smartphone camera at the end of a plumbing snake and you’ve got the idea. The camera also has lights to illuminate the inside of the pipe or sewer line it’s inspecting. Your plumber threads the camera down the sewer via the clean out in your basement or other entry point. He will watch the video feed on a small monitor and notice any signs of plumbing problems. Inspection cameras can be maneuvered to closely examine every inch of your sewer line in detail. This footage is recorded so it can be reviewed later if need be.

What You Can See with a Plumbing Leak Detection Camera

Using the camera, your plumber can detect leaks, or detect clogs and cracks that may have gone unnoticed and unaddressed. The camera’s high-definition lens can even pick up tiny hairline fractures that can become bigger problems later on.

The most common concerns with sewer lines are tree roots and sludge build up. With a camera inspection, your plumber can zero in on exactly where the tree roots are in the line and treat it accordingly. To clear clogged sewer lines, we use a roto rooter or a high-powered hydro jet. If you have a leak or need to repair a broken pipe, the camera can help diagnose the best way to repair it. In many cases, plumbers no longer need to dig up your yard to repair a broken sewer line.

The Benefits of Using a Sewer and Pipe Inspection Camera

  • Locate underground break in waterline or pipe.
  • Evaluate condition of pipes.
  • Detect all issues, not just the most pressing.
  • Identify precise plumbing location of pipes and plumbing problems.
  • Prevent unnecessary digging and eliminate guesswork.
  • Detect third party damage to sewer lines.
  • Provide video records for insurance.
  • Assess the condition of sewer line of new home before purchase.

Ultimately a camera inspection of your sewer line will save you time, money and the potential hassle of digging up your yard.
